2020 – a new year, a new you!
The pco car hire career can be a very lucrative one, and its no surprise that many are deciding it’s the way forward for work. Driving a taxi for a living also grants you the opportunity to have flexible working hours, so you don’t have to worry about losing time with family and other priorities when it’s needed.
Having said that, the level of success in the pco car hire business is linked directly to your performance and being able to impress your customers, so all the above perks can only happen with things being done properly.
Whether you’re a new driver or an experienced one, have a look at the following bits of advice on how to maximise your customer satisfaction and your financial rewards.
Safety First
Something which seems obvious can just as easily be taken for granted. The lives of your customers and yourselves are the utmost priority, so make sure to follow the Highway Code in everything you do. As well as that, be good to other drivers –you’ll feel better for it!
Social Skills Second
Some people love to talk, and the last thing they want is a moody, silent driver taking them to their destination. Knowing how to start good conversations, carry them on or even just listening can make a big difference to a customer’s journey.
On the other hand, it’s worth bearing in mind that customers might have hired your services in order to avoid other humans and chit chat! If that is the case, give them the space they need, and if they need anything, they’ll be sure to let you know.
Good Timing
Flexible hours are one thing but working at the right time is another matter. The difference between good day and a bad day’s earnings could simply be down to being in the right place at the right time. With that in mind, here’s a suggestion of potential money-earning periods of the week:
- Mornings from 5am to 8am – where people travel to distant places to work, or to the airport for business trips and holidays
- Afternoons from 4pm to 7pm – the end of the working day, or at weekends, the time when people are heading back from shopping trips
- Evenings from 10pm to 1am – the later one’s work finishes, the greater the chance of a cab being called! And from Thursday to Saturday, the time when people are heading out for nightlife.
Finally, the current winter season, will also encourage people to take taxis rather than brave the cold on lengthy train and bus journeys.
